  • The Fashion Police

So here I am, in the throw's of middle age.....sitting with friends and family and what seemed to be a friendly conversation turned into what very eerily felt like a crisis intervention…you can picture it… I’m innocently talking about whatever comes to mind (like guy’s do so well) and my daughter turns to me and say’s “Dad… you really need to wear a tee shirt under any button up shirt” … “there is this unwritten rule.” Then, it seemed that the table of ten (including my wife) turned their attention at the lack of hair on my chest and chimed in with all of their opinions on how it is necessary that from now on I wear a tee shirt… am I the only 45 year old on this planet that has never heard this UNWRITTEN rule? My daughter even commented on it being “borderline gay” WOW… Have folks been snickering behind my back? I feel so UNCLEAN… I’m going to buy a tee shirt that says “Tee shirtless, straight and loving it” !!! I think it’s time to stand up!!!

  • Spring cleaning

Hey everyone...isn't it weird how you dread doing something, and might put it off for quite a long time and when you finally do it, it took maybe all of 10 minutes... I looked at those stupid leaves sitting in the drain by the back door all fall and it was nothing when my wife finally cleaned those out... :) well lets use another example... I bought weed and feed a couple weeks ago (cause you're supposed to put it on around Easter time ish... sure the weather wasn't that great... but there was opportunity.. anyway'ssss I dragged out the fertilizer thingy and pushed it around and it took all of 10 minutes.... OOOooooo.... big deal... there is a lot to say about JUST DO IT! It's always easier once you start!... BRUCE! Here I am, talking to myself again... must be a 40 something thing..

  • Monster.won

    Hey ya'll,

Thank you for your prayers,, There were several that applied for the job, and the interviews (of which I'm also not very good at) went pretty well, and in the end they did choose me (and I accepted)! Now if you could pray that I am organized in my thoughts enough to remember everything I am responsible for... there is this long list of the things that they want accomplished and I don't believe they are going to have an easy time filling my "old" position... While doing two jobs for a while doesn't seem like too much fun, I will have to look at it as an adventure..  Thanks for all y'alls encouragement... I truly believe I have the best friends in the whole world.

  • He's alive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well.. better late than never?.. More like "really late and hardly ever" But it seems really fun to sit and learn bout people every now and then.. And I really don't appreciate it until I do it... so,,, Here I sit, typing away,, let's see what's new in the life of Bruce... I know, something you all can pray about,, I have an opportunity to get a different position at my work... it would be more of a move sideways for me but would give me a better position at getting future promotions..... I put in my resume.. which in itself was a very difficult thing for me to do... I'm not very good at selling myself.. (I think that is a good thing) :) thank the Lord for suggestions from monster.com..... who ever thinks up the name for some of these websites... "Oh (says the businessman) I need a upstanding employee to work for me! I think I'll go to MONSTER.com..." go figure.

  • A men

OK... soooo here's the scoop... I found there are three books available at Baker book house in the new book section.     Husbands and Fathers by Derek Prince...  We will meet on Sunday morning at 8:30 and will start this Sunday! (already) AT THE CHURCH....The first one will be to get together and pray and discuss some of the inspiration for this meeting and what is required of us and maybe talk a little about the intro of the book. I understand that some of you (most of you) will probably not have the book by then... but I can't wait any longer and want to get this thing rolling.... Sooo men....step up to the plate....(not the one with food on it)

  • Another Book!

That's a WOW... I read another book... called Husband and Fathers By Derek Prince... I'm just gonna say.. If any of you want to read very deep but easy to read (and comprehend) and very inspiring books, Pick up some of Derek Princes books.. He has a way of taking some of the scriptures I've heard for years and breaking them down to practical application. Anyway''sss this book has inspired me to not only look at the responsibilities that God expects of those that are Husbands and Fathers, but also brings readers through the path of how to repent and change... so much so that I'd like to do a mens study / prayer gathering that goes chapter by chapter through this book... I'm thinking Sunday mornings at New beginnings (I am praying about it and will get the detail together this week and announce it through church..or to whoever else might show interest. I believe we NEED a new day for men to rise up in the callings they've been given.

  • That's a WoW

Concerning the title... My boss always used to say that, I don't think it's  grammatically correct, he's not with the company any more... maybe that's why? but I don't have a lot of grammatical authority... only that which my Northview edumacation can afford (Wow! spell check didn't catch edumacation! That must be a word! That's a WOW ...edulatcation .... Ok,,, maybe my spell check isn't working... hope deferred makes the heart sick.. Here's another WOW... I finished the book I commented on last time... that doesn't happen very often... ooooo the list of unfinished books in my long illustrious career... I'm a changin tho....

  • Stirring

I'm reading a book (I got at the call) and it's title is Shaping History through fasting and intercession,,, by Derek Prince and it is totally inspiring! I think what I like the most about it is,,, a lot of times we feel so helpless when it comes to world affairs,,, governments,, and He (Derek) pointed out so well, that God wants to establish his people as Kings and Priests in the world, and we need to care and believe and pray for those things that God puts on our hearts to pray for... and He wants to make a difference through us as he did throughout history through the Patriarchs  like Daniel and David  (all  givin  for our examples)  that is exciting to me... Lord show me (us)  how you want me (us) to make a difference!!!!!...

  • Are you 2/3rds?

    Hey...

I heard on the radio the other day that only one out of Three Americans know the Star Spangled Banner.... Jose' can you see? Well,, I secretly sung it through (to make sure I knew it) and was surprised as I muttled my way through a lot of words I thought I knew... OK you try it and see... You may wonder at some point "who brought stripes and bright stars?" Well the flag did... so that must be right! Hellooo... Whose broad stripes and bright stars... anyway'ssss for those of you that muttle threw the words like I do and everyone else is carrying us, here are the words... Don't let you be of the 2/3rds !!!!!

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

    Did any words surprise you?

There are three other verses that are awesome you can read at WCSG.ORG ,, click the morning show and the rest is there...

Well, if you didn't catch it before, I was repeating a couple lines from one of the dramas that was done (really well I might add) at a evangelism seminar for our youth at church... One of the things that was demonstrated was that we have an impact wherever we are, and should take any opportunity to share our joy or strength with others and should not limit ourselves to think we need to "share" in formula of salvation... because Jesus himself didn't "share" in that way and the bible specifically says we ought to "Walk as Jesus walked"... So you ask,, What would Jesus do?
Huh... WWJD... more than a faddish bracelet... Jesus didn't worry about how he was going to word four specific steps to make sure you enter heaven... At least I don't remember reading that :) I'm learning more and more that Jesus was "moved with compassion" seeing the needs of the people and having Gods heart... Jesus said, "I don't do anything unless I see my father doing it" (roughly paraphrased) That will be the key to having a lot more people experiencing the love of our father in heaven. (And consequently  surrendering  their lives to  His  Lordship...) Paul said something we need to take to heart here... (roughly paraphrased again) I don't speak with the craftiness and cunning  speech, but walk in the demonstration of the power of the spirit.. OK... lemme find it.
    1 Cor 2:3-5
4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
    NKJV
I believe love, peace and joy is one of the best miracles that we can show to demonstrate the Spirit. We are walking miracles to some people, lets not minimize the workings of God in our lives..
